Division Resurgence Safe Codes Master List (May 2026): Every Encrypted Crate Location, Code, and Reward

Division Resurgence encrypted crate safe codes master list showing all 21 confirmed locations and combinations for May 2026

[!INFO] Looking for redemption codes or gift codes? See our Division Resurgence Codes Guide for active promo codes, Twitch Drops, and how to redeem them.

The Division Resurgence calls them encrypted crates, the community calls them safes, and either way they drop superior gear, crafting materials, Phoenix Credits, and a chunk of progress toward the New York City Collector commendation. There are 33 of them in total tied to the commendation. The community has mapped and decoded 21. The other 12 are still being hunted.

This page is the master list of everything that has been confirmed by real players on video or by the mod-pinned community resource, not invented by sites pretending they have the full set. We have flagged the codes that are static and the three that change per character so you do not waste five minutes typing the wrong digits and cursing your phone.

If you find one we missed, tell us and we will get it on here.

Quick Answer

  • The New York City Collector commendation lists 33 encrypted crates. As of late May 2026, the community has confirmed locations and codes for 21 of them.
  • Three of those 21 have codes that are randomized per character. Always read your own Code Clue collectible in the Cryptic Clues tab.
  • The other 18 codes are static and work for everyone.
  • Rewards include superior gear, crafting components, Phoenix Credits, and progress toward four exploration commendations (Code Tracker, Detective’s Journey, Decipherer, NYC Collector).
  • Season 1 Phase 2 (May 11, 2026) did not add new encrypted crates per the official Ubisoft patch notes. The list below is still current.

How Encrypted Crates Work

Each crate has a 4-digit combo. To open it, you need to:

  1. Find the crate in the world (apartments, safe houses, settlements, shops, side streets).
  2. Find the clue in the immediate area. It is usually on a chalkboard, poster, store sign, notice board, neon sign, sticky note, or graffiti tag within a few meters of the crate.
  3. For ten of the crates the clue lives in a Code Clue collectible you pick up off the ground nearby. Once collected, the clue text shows up in your Inventory > Collectibles > Cryptic Clues menu.
  4. Type the combo into the keypad. Done.

A handful of clues are intentionally fuzzy (date written in European format, low-resolution sign that could read 1883 or 1899). When in doubt, the codes on this page are the ones the community has actually opened the crate with.

The Commendation Rewards

Here is why crate hunting is worth your time beyond the loot inside, per the mod-pinned Reddit community thread:

CommendationRequirementReward
Code TrackerOpen 5 encrypted crates2 points, 15 Phoenix Credits
Detective’s JourneyOpen 10 encrypted crates3 points, 20 Phoenix Credits
DeciphererOpen 21 encrypted crates4 points, 30 Phoenix Credits
New York City CollectorOpen 33 encrypted crates (plus a 42-artifact requirement)5 points, NYC Collector Title Card

The first 21 crates are worth 65 Phoenix Credits, 9 commendation points, and a noticeable chunk of progress toward the Collector Title Card. Worth a clean sweep.

The 42-artifact piece is the other half of the NYC Collector lock. While you are out hunting crates, pick up every Code Clue collectible you see because they count toward both objectives.

Every Confirmed Encrypted Crate (Verified May 2026)

We use the patrikjuvonen community numbering (Crate 01 through 21) because that thread is the mod-acknowledged master list. Locations come from on-screen video verification, most notably GooHootGaming’s May 9, 2026 full walkthrough and GCROCK’s April video showing each safe being entered.

Definitive sources for this list:

Walkthrough: Quick BoO Cluster (5 Crates in 10 Minutes)

This is the fastest cluster if you have just unlocked fast travel. Five static crates within a short walk of the NYC Base of Operations.

Crate 16: BoO Dormitories (Code 1350)

Fast travel to NYC Base of Operations. Head inside to the dormitories. In the hallway, a piece of paper pinned to the notice board reads 1350. The safe is just past the notice board.

Crate 14: Oak Lock Store (Code 1122)

From the BoO entrance, take a right. The Oak Lock store (a small coffee shop with sofas on the map) is on your left. The safe is on the floor inside. The sign above the safe shows 1122.

Heads up: a few older guides list this as 122 which is a misread of a 3-digit combo. The keypad expects four digits and the correct input is 1122. GCROCK’s video confirms this on screen.

Crate 15: Supermarket (Code 1987)

Cross the street from Oak Lock and enter the supermarket. Back wall, on the floor. A sign hanging above the safe shows the year 1987. That is your code.

Crate 19: Serotentia “Birthday Gift” Safe (Code 1105)

From the BoO entrance, take a left and run down the street. You will pass the Madison Field Hospital area (yes, that Madison Field Hospital, the one from the original Division). Look for the Serotentia tent.

Pick up the Code Clue 10 collectible on the ground just outside the tent first. It is titled Birthday Gift and the clue text reads “Tuesday 11th of May or 5th of November.” Either reading gives you 1105. The crate is just inside the tent on the floor.

Crate 20: Random Crate Near Serotentia (Code: Yours)

There is one nearby crate in this cluster whose code rotates per character. Open Inventory > Collectibles > Cryptic Clues, find Code Clue 4, and your personal 4-digit answer is in the clue text. Yours will not match anyone else’s, which is exactly the kind of thing that makes copy-paste guides useless and makes us write these.

Walkthrough: Safe House and Settlement Codes

Crate 11: Spring Blossom Settlement (Code 3580)

Fast travel to Spring Blossom Settlement. Turn right out of spawn, take another right, and rappel up. Take a left and run into the back room. The code is on the chalkboard on the right-hand wall: 3580. The crate is right there.

This one has been verified across GCROCK, GooHootGaming, and a Spring Blossom-specific walkthrough. Always check the chalkboard in your game first because one creator noted “for some players it has been reported as different.” The overwhelming majority report 3580.

Crate 04: Autumn’s Hope Safe House (Code 1883)

Fast travel to Autumn’s Hope. The crate is in the reception area near the NPC Mullins. The clue is the “Established” year on the sign behind the desk.

Fair warning: depending on your graphics settings the year can look like 1899 or 1893. One Reddit user tried 1899 and the safe rejected it. The right answer is 1883, confirmed on video.

Crate 06: Dante’s Run Safe House (Code 7716)

Fast travel to Dante’s Run. Exit through the side door near the mannequin into the attached clothing store. The crate is behind the checkout desk. Walk around to the front and read the promotional poster: 7716.

Crate 13: Kerman Station Safe House (Code 7069)

Fast travel to Kerman Station. Exit the spawn room and head straight into the locker area. A yellow sticky note pinned to the side of the lockers shows 7069. The crate is right next to them.

If you saw this safe house called “Curban Station” in a video, that was a transcription error. In-game it is Kerman Station.

Crate 12: The Cavern Safe House (Randomized)

Fast travel to The Cavern in the Garment District. This is one of the three crates with a randomized code. Pick up the Code Clue 8 collectible to the right of the crate, then open Inventory > Collectibles > Cryptic Clues and read your personal solution. Some early guides claim a static code for this safe. Those are wrong because the most recent on-screen walkthrough explicitly confirms it varies per character.

Walkthrough: Clinton and North Map Crates

Crate 05: Clinton (Code 0616)

Teleport to Lazarus Rest Safe House. Run down the stairs, exit to the left, then straight across the road and up another set of stairs. The crate is right there. The code comes from Code Clue 7: 0616.

Crate 03: Clinton, West of Lazarus Rest (Randomized)

From Lazarus Rest, head west. Climb the ladder. The crate is here and the code is on a post-it note nearby that is different for every player. Pick up the artifact to the right after you climb up and check Code Clue 11 in your Cryptic Clues menu.

Crate 01: Clinton, North End (Code 0115)

Continue north from the Crate 03 area to a lobby. The crate sits beneath a Christmas tree inside. Code Clue 5 is the source. Code: 0115.

Walkthrough: Hudson Yards and Hell’s Kitchen

Crate 09: Abandoned Train Yard, North of Kerman (Code 1124)

After grabbing Kerman Station, head north to the abandoned train yard. The crate is here. Source is Code Clue 9. Code: 1124.

Crate 08: South of Dante’s Run (Code 1845)

Teleport to a world event south of Dante’s Run if you have one active, otherwise run there. Down the slope. The code is spray-painted on the wall in plain sight: 1845.

Crate 07: Times Square Abandoned Police Station (Code 1450)

Teleport to the south entrance of Times Square. Head into the abandoned police station. The crate is right there with the code on the whiteboard: 1450.

Walkthrough: Garment District and Statue Echo

Crate 02: Apartment North of The Cavern (Code 7223)

After hitting The Cavern, head up just north of it into an apartment building. Keep following the stairs up, take a right, and the crate is in the last room on the left. Code Clue 2 is the source. Code: 7223.

Crate 17: Statue with Echo 02 (Code 2010)

East side of the Base of Operations. The crate sits next to a statue holding a book, which is also the location of Echo 02. The book displays MMX, which is 2010 in standard digits. The hint is usually highlighted with a red circle in-game, per the Reddit thread.

Crate 18: Building With Lockers East of BoO (Code 0078)

Run back out to the street from Crate 17, take a right, and head into the next building. The code is 0078, displayed inside one of the lockers.

Crate 21: Southeast Map Edge (Code 0123)

The last crate is in the bottom-right corner of the NYC map, in the world-event area. Code Clue 6 is the source. Code: 0123. Crack this and you have your Decipherer commendation locked in.

The Three Random Crates: How to Solve Yours

If a code on another guide did not work for you, this is almost always why. Three of the 21 known crates have a different code for every character.

The random crates are 03, 12, and 20 on the patrikjuvonen community map.

To get your personal code:

  1. Open the in-game menu.
  2. Go to Inventory > Collectibles > Cryptic Clues.
  3. Read the clue text for the matching Code Clue number:
    • Random Crate 03 reads from Code Clue 11.
    • Random Crate 12 reads from Code Clue 8 (this is The Cavern safe house crate).
    • Random Crate 20 reads from Code Clue 4.
  4. The 4-digit answer is in your clue text. Plug it in.

Yes, this is a little awkward. No, it is not a bug. Ubisoft built this in deliberately for a few of the crates so guides like ours cannot fully solve the game for you. We respect that, while also providing this guide.

The Missing 12 Crates

The New York City Collector commendation requires 33 crates. The community has mapped 21. That leaves 12 unaccounted for, and per the patrikjuvonen footnote the commendation also lists other requirements beyond the crate count, so the gap might not even be a clean “12 more crates to find.”

Theories that have been investigated:

  • Dark Zone POIs. DezarothAU on Reddit checked three DZ landmarks looking for a clean 1:1 match. No luck.
  • All in the same district. patrikjuvonen has swept Chelsea, Hudson Yards, and Tenderloin without finding the remaining 12.

What we suspect but cannot confirm:

  • The commendation may count other collectibles (echoes, artifacts) toward the 33 total.
  • Some crates may unlock with later mission progression or future patches.
  • Crates may be tied to seasonal areas not yet released. The Season 1-3 Roadmap covers what is coming.

What we know is not the issue: Phase 2 of Season 1 (May 11, 2026) did not add encrypted crates, per Ubisoft’s Phase 2 patch notes. The 21 of 33 split is still the live state of the game.

If you find a crate that is not on this list, share the location and code in the r/thedivisionresurgence subreddit or tag us so we can verify and update.

Tips Before You Start Crate Hunting

  • Pick up every Code Clue collectible you see even if you are not at the safe yet. They go straight into your Cryptic Clues menu and stay there. Picking them all up also counts toward the NYC Collector artifact requirement (you need 42 artifacts total).
  • Run cluster routes, not single crate trips. The five around the BoO can be done in one short loop.
  • Use Pulse Scanning to highlight interactive objects through walls, including crates and clue collectibles.
  • Check your graphics settings if a sign looks blurry. Bumping shadow quality up one tick and disabling motion blur makes the Autumn’s Hope sign far easier to read.
  • Do not extract from the Dark Zone with a half-finished cryptic clue and expect it to count. It is the Code Clues in your collectibles menu that progress the crate, not the loot you carry out.
  • Keep coming back. Ubisoft has been pushing patches roughly every 2 to 4 weeks (latest content drop is Phase 2 of Season 1 and Patch 1.2.1). Crates and clues have been added in updates before, so the missing 12 may show up in a future patch even without a new map zone.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many safes are there in Division Resurgence?

There are 33 encrypted crates tied to the New York City Collector commendation. The community has decoded 21 as of late May 2026. The other 12 are still being mapped.

Why is the safe code wrong on other guides?

Two reasons. First, transcription errors (the most common is 1122 misprinted as 122). Second, three of the crates have codes that are randomized per character, so the code that worked for another player will not work for you. Read your own Code Clue in Cryptic Clues.

Which Division Resurgence safe codes are random?

Crates 03, 12, and 20 on the community map. The codes are inside Code Clue 11, Code Clue 8, and Code Clue 4 respectively, in your in-game Cryptic Clues menu.

What is the safe code for The Cavern?

The Cavern is one of the three randomized crates. Pick up the Code Clue 8 collectible to the right of the safe, then read its clue text in Inventory, Collectibles, Cryptic Clues for your personal code.

Are these the same safes from The Division 2?

No. The Division Resurgence is a separate mobile and PC game with its own NYC storyline. These crates are tied to Resurgence's own collectible system and commendations.

What rewards do encrypted crates give?

Superior gear pieces, crafting components, weapon mods, consumables, and Phoenix Credits. Opening the first 21 progresses four exploration commendations totaling 65 Phoenix Credits, 9 points, and the NYC Collector Title Card.

What is the safe code for Spring Blossom Settlement?

3580, taken from the chalkboard to the right of the crate in the top-floor back room.

What is the safe code for Autumn's Hope?

1883, taken from the Established year on the sign behind Mullins at the reception desk.

What is the safe code for Kerman Station?

7069, written on a yellow sticky note pinned to the side of the lockers.

What is the safe code for the Oak Lock store?

1122. Some older guides list 122. The keypad takes four digits and the correct input is 1122.
